Companies 1 to 6 all get involved in one way or another with waste as follows:
1. Humphries Demolition Limited is a well known and respected company within the Demolition industry in the West Midlands. Over the last 20 years due to the down turn in the heavy engineering industry in the West Midlands, Humphries Demolition has carried out considerable work in the Black Country. We have cleared many sites that were household names working in a 25-mile radius of our Head Office.
2. William Gabriel Ltd. dates back to the 1850s and was purchased by H.E. Humphries Ltd in 1989 mainly for its crushing capacity to deal with the large volumes of brick and concrete rubble produced by H.E. Humphries Ltd. William Gabriel cleans, crushes and markets the crushed aggregates mainly to builders and civil engineering contracts.
3. Bloomfield Recycling and Skip Hire was formed in 1994 and operates a transfer station that deals with the waste (other than aggregates) that arises from H.E. Humphries Demolition sites and also from the skip hire operation it operates from its Bloomfield Road depot in Tipton.
4. Matsime (Waste Carriers) Ltd. is responsible for the operation of all transport requirements for the whole group bringing in the waste from site and transporting out the recycled product. Matsime also provide the transport for the timber and builders merchants operation in Wednesbury. Matsime operates from garage premises in the Bloomfield Road site in Tipton.
5. Bloomfield Composting is a recent venture and will operate from its new 18 acre site in Cannock where the pulverised organic wastes (processed in Bloomfield Recycling's facility) is then blended with animal and chicken manure before being composted in open windrows. The finished product being supplied to the providers of the animal manure free of charge.
6. Bloomfield Ready Mix Concrete is another recent venture and operates a ready mixed concrete manufacturing plant along with ready mix delivery vehicles. Its initial purpose is to provide an economic means of concreting at both the 9 acre site at Tipton and the 18 acre site at Cannock. It will also manufacture concrete using recycled brick as its aggregate in the mix and this will be sold to our existing customers and new customers making enquiries at our builders merchants outlet at Wednesbury.
Companies 7, 8 and 9 are mainly concerned with the marketing of timber and builders materials.
The operations of each of the companies, complements, and in some cases enhances the capabilities of the others.
It is the group's policy to constantly explore ways and means of enhancing our recycling operation to deal with the ever expanding range of materials arriving at the facility under the classification of construction, demolition and controlled waste.
There are a number of other operations planned for the Tipton site, mostly involving manufacturing of products using recycled materials.
